Kauai - September 2000

I was finally able to visit Hawaii after 25 years! Kristin and I went to the island of Kauai and stayed on the south shore at the Kiahuna Plantation. It turned out to be a wise choice because as the rest of the island was covered in rain showers, Poipu Beach was always sunny and clear. We did lots of snorkeling while we were there and thought Tunnels Beach was the best area to see fish. We also kayaked the Na Pali Coast! It was a 17.5 mile journey and took all day! The seas had 4-6 ft. swells and after an hour of paddling hard we had only gone 1 mile. I was wondering how I was going to finish. However we were able to see things no one else could see. It was amazing!
